    Deadwood (2004)
    Western/Drama; USA
    36 episodes

Fuck John Wayne. I never liked that no-actin' honkey nor his craptastic movies. As a general rule I usually pass on Westerns because...well, usually they're just really boring. I couldn't possibly give less of a fuck about whose having a shootout with whom at whatever o'clock at the old stables. Just isn't my thing. But "Deadwood" - now that's some shit I can get down on!

This isn't your typical Western. Or hell, maybe it is, I don't really know because, like I already said, I don't watch Westerns - they suck. But I'm pretty sure this is not your typical Western. I'm able to deduce this from the show's complete lack of suckitude. At first, the language in "Deadwood" may seem dense - and it is very dense - but with time it becomes second nature and that's where the real fun begins. Open your ears and you will hear some of the most loquacious ways to tear somebody a new one you're likely to come across. "Deadwood" turns cussing into an artform and that alone is worth watching for, but the show has plenty beyond that to offer. It's like "The Wire" in ye olden tymes. Good stuff.

Give this some time if you're into: HBO original programing, cursing, grit, grime, booze and whores
